U.S.A.'s national flower and France's national flower. Mary was one of the "trois grandes dames (three great ladies)" of the Impressionist movement in France. It's no surprise that I feel a kinship with her because she was an American girl living and painting in Paris. She created beautiful work that are some of my favorite Impressionist paintings and hold up strongly against all of her contemporaries
